Blam! Hot flames and black smoke were spreading around the burning building. Joe, the fire fighter, clumsily stormed into the broken apartment and tried to save the innocent people inside, but he slipped on a mouldy orange that had fallen on the floor and hit his head. Joe was taken to the hospital because he had really injured himself badly and then he had to take an ice bath to reduce the pain of his cuts. After his bath, Joe was picked up from hospital by his friends. When he got home, Joe danced with joy because he was OK.

Hi Rowan, what a great opening to this story, ‘Blam!’ and then straight in to the excitement and Joe’s unfortunate (but quite humorous) accident. Glad to see he got out of hospital and danced for joy; I like a happy ending. This is a very good response to the 100WC prompt and a good creative piece of writing that is well put together. Keep it up.

Hi Rowan,
I really enjoyed your story this week. Well done. You’ve used all the prompt words really well. You have used some nice descriptive language too.
I’m glad Joe was ok in the end.
Keep up the great work.
