Scruffy, Everyone’s Friend, by Chris, Year 8

I was walking in the city looking at all the flashing lights and listening to cars driving past me. I could not go on this adventure without Scruffy, my teddy bear. Suddenly, I walked past a man with raggedy old clothes and teeth that looked like beans. He seemed very sad, as if he needed a friend. I put Scruffy down on the ground and said, “Now you have someone to keep you company”. He looked up at me with a big smile and thanked me. As sad as I am to lose Scruffy, at least I know he is with someone that needs him more.
