There was an old fellow,
Who liked to play the cello,
When he sang he liked to bellow,
He liked to eat marshmallows,
He liked to walk in the meadows,
Where he heard an echo,
And saw something yellow
It was a yellow coloured gecko,
And he wanted to play the cello,
And started to bellow,
And the gecko
Became a sparrow
And looked at the fellow,
And the fellow
Said to the sparrow,
“My name is Donatello”,
And the sparrow
Became a pharaoh,
And felt a bit like jello,
And wanted to eat Caramelo,
And later learned the cello.

Hello Levi, this is amazing! The use of rhyme and rhythm is very effective. The repetition also creates humour. I hope you enjoy your writing and plan to do lots of creative writing. Well done. I think I will be reciting elements of your poem tomorrow as it is now in my head.

Hello Levi,
I can see you like to creat verse wheer each line has a rhyming sound ending. Verse can be a way of expressing feelings and thoughts. It can also work well with nonsense rhymes such as Lewis Carroll’s “Jabberwocky”. Well done.
