…but I had to see what was inside…

It was pitch black, my mind was still wandering when I was supposed to be asleep. I had seen a hidden compartment in the house that I had no idea about. I knew that it was none of my business but I had to see what was inside. I snuck out of my room as quietly as a mouse. I passed my parents’ room but then I heard a noise. My heart pounded over a million miles per hour and my skinny little legs ran as fast as they could. I got back to my bed, disappointed and relieved, but curious to find out more.

Congratulations on your response to this week’s challenge Lachie. I love your careful word choices which added so much detail with a minimum of words. I had a very clear picture of you creeping around feeling afraid, then running quickly back to bed. I am still wondering what was in that compartment. This text could be the start of an interesting story.😊
